Nirvana Pilot Yume is a narrative based visual novel, which incorporates gameplay sections inspired by a racing game from the early 1990s

I came on board as an additional helping hand, helping Dev9K to get the game released on Steam. During which I participated in creating various hazards for the player to avoid in the game, along with overall gameplay fine-tuning. I also added additional polish to the game.

Level Design

Since the racing sections were the main gameplay component of Nirvana Pilot Yume, which also affected how the story would play out, I wanted to ensure that the gameplay sections would be challenging to the players.

One of the main things I learned from this project is the importance of balancing challenge for the players. It was a constant struggle to tune the levels to feel both challenging and fair at the same time.
